River sand is an indispensable bulk material of natural origin in construction. It has a wide range of applications, differing depending on the characteristics, grade and fractional composition of the embankment.

The scope of sand use includes the production of bricks, decorative and paving tiles, reinforced concrete products. Due to the absence of a large amount of impurities and clay in the composition, it is ideal for mixing concrete solutions, giving them high-quality characteristics.

In addition, sand is widely used in the manufacture of drainage structures, water drainage, in landscape design solutions, for garden paths and much more. It is part of plaster mixtures, masonry mortars, dyes and grouts, asphalt concrete mixture. It participates in the process of water filtration and purification.

Sand extraction is carried out from the bottom of active rivers using a floating crane or dredger.

Crushed stone is an inorganic, granular, bulk material with grains larger than 5 mm, obtained by crushing rocks, gravel and boulders, associated overburden and host rocks or substandard waste from mining enterprises for ore processing (ferrous, non-ferrous and rare metals of the metallurgical industry) and non-metallic minerals of other industries and subsequent screening of crushing products.

It is used mainly to obtain particularly hard concrete, when pouring foundations of buildings, construction of bridges, highways, etc. Crushed stone is used as an aggregate for concrete and as drainage in various places, used in road construction and railway track laying, in the arrangement of various landscape design objects, etc.

Granite crushed stone is obtained by blasting and subsequent crushing of granite layers. It has the greatest resistance to loads and adverse environmental influences.

Screenings are formed as an additional product as a result of processing various rocks for the purpose of producing crushed stone. It is formed after sieving the crushing residues through special sieves to separate them by fractions. In fact, crushed stone screenings are themselves a small fraction of it.

In its properties, screenings are similar to the original raw material. Like crushed stone, it is characterized by such indicators as density, shape, strength, content of dust particles and clay. It can be limestone, granite, marble, etc. The color depends on the rock, a by-product of which it is: gray, gray-green, reddish, pink.

Crushed stone screenings are divided into fractions: the smallest 1-3 mm, larger up to 10 mm. Despite the fact that screenings are a by-product in the production of crushed stone, it can be considered an independent building material that is widely used.
