Participation in the modernization of the ferry crossing

The branch of the Republican Unitary Enterprise 'Belarusian River Shipping Company' - the river port of Rechitsa - took part in the modernization of the ferry crossing across the Western Dvina River in the urban settlement of Surazh.

The river port completed work on the manufacture of the starboard pontoon of the left ferry according to Project 472B with the installation of deck hatches.

The urban settlement of Surazh, Vitebsk District, is located on both banks of the Western Dvina. From spring until the onset of stable cold weather, a ferry crossing operates here, and in the winter, an ice crossing was previously built. As part of the modernization, the old ferry was replaced with a new vessel.

The new ferry is twice the size of the previous one: 47 meters long, 23 meters wide, and has a lifting capacity of 120 tons.

The Belarusian River Shipping Company offers shipbuilding and ship repair services using the material and technical base of its affiliated enterprises: the Rechitsa Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant and the Gomel Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant.

A modern fleet of metalworking, pressing, bending, gas and plasma cutting, electric welding, and painting equipment is used to perform shipbuilding and ship repair work. The highly qualified specialists ensure high-quality work within the optimal timeframe for the customer.
